ACWA Power Co has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Indonesia's state-owned electricity utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN), for the 60-MW Saguling floating solar PV project.
ACWA Power has a 49% equity stake in both projects, with the rest being held by Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of PLN. The state-owned utility will be the off-taker of power from Saguling. This project will be located on the Saguling Reservoir in West Java and represents a significant step in Indonesia’s renewable energy efforts. The floating solar plant will be one of the first of its kind in the country, utilizing the reservoir's surface to generate clean energy without using additional land. The project is expected to provide a boost to local energy supply while contributing to Indonesia's climate goals.
