Bids received for 500 MW Solar IPP Project in Oman
Nama Power & Water Procurement (PWP), Oman announces the list of bidders who submitted bids for the development of Ibri III Solar Independent power plant (IPP), in Ibri, a city in the governorate of Ad Dhahirah, in northwestern Oman.
Following is the list of Bidders:
- Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), Korea Midland Power (“KOMIPO”), Al Khadra Partners
- ACWA Power, TotalEnergies Renewables
- EDF Renouvelables and Korean Western Power (“KOWEPO”)
- Sembcorp Utilities
PWP, Oman’s sole off-taker of electricity from independent power plants, prequalified nine applicants in June 2024, after evaluating 12 qualification submissions from both local and international consortia. Among the prequalified companies that did not submit bids were Jinko Power and Sumitomo Corp. The schedule of the Commercial Operation Date (SCOD) of the project is in Q1 2027.

Oman´s largest solar plant reaches financial close
A consortium consisting of ACWA Power, GIC, and AEPC have achieved the financial closure for the 500 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) Independent Power Project (IPP) at Ibri in the Sultanate of Oman, which is also the largest utility-scale solar plant in the country as of date.
