RFQ issued for 2,400 MW CCGT Independent Power Plants in Oman

Nama Power and Water Procurement Company SAOC (PWP), Oman announces the launch of the Qualification process for interested developers through the issuance of the Request for Qualification (RFQ) document to develop two combined cycle gas turbines power plants with a total capacity of 2,400 MW to be located in Misfah and Duqm.

Two Independent Power Projects (IPPs) are planned at Misfah in Bausher, Muscat Governorate, and Al Duqm in Al Wusta Governorate. These projects will utilize advanced Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) technology. RFQ invites interested developers to submit credentials showcasing their technical expertise and financial capacity. The projects will be developed on a Build, Own, and Operate (BOO) basis. 

The new capacity is expected to be awarded by Q4 of 2025, with full operational commencement planned for Q2 of 2029. Early power delivery is anticipated by Q2 of 2028. The deadline for the submission of qualifications is March 13, 2025. More information about the tender can be accessed here.
