Anma Offshore Wind has concluded the final Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for its 532 MW offshore wind farm project in South Korea. The assessment, undertaken in collaboration with South Korea's Ministry of Environment, began with the submission of the draft EIA in April 2022.
With the completion of the EIA evaluation, Anma Offshore Wind is now free to participate in the upcoming Renewable Portfolio Standard auction, slated to take place later this year. South Korea, with its sights set on achieving 14.3 GW of offshore wind power by 2030, is committed to attaining carbon neutrality by 2050.
Located approximately 40 kilometers west of the South Korean peninsula's southwestern coastline, the 532 MW wind farm project is anticipated to be one of the pioneering utility-scale ventures in the country, with construction beginning in the first half of 2024.
