Caribbean Utilities Company Ltd (CUC) in the Cayman Islands, UK has chosen Wartsila to provide two 10 MW/10 MWh energy storage systems under an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract.
The energy storage systems will be connected to the Hydesville, West Bay, and Prospect substations, which will provide extensive power system optimization capabilities, while saving CUC money on fuel costs. Each facility will feature both the GridSolv Quantum and the GEMS Digital Energy Platform.
The Wartsila energy storage systems in Grand Cayman are anticipated to be operational in Q2 of 2023.
