Hexicon has appointed Mingyang Smart Energy as the preferred supplier of the Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) for the 32 MW TwinHub floating wind project located off the coast of Hayle in the Celtic Sea, UK.

The contract awarded to Mingyang also covers the WTG Front End Engineering & Design (FEED). The project will feature Hexicon’s TwinWind floating foundation technology which will allow two of Mingyang’s MySE 8.0-180 WTGs to be placed on a single foundation.

The TwinHub project has closed a CfD contract for a 15-years of revenue support from the UK Government’s Allocation Round 4 (AR4) in July 2022. The project is expected to be operational between 2025 and 2027.
