Protium has launched a consultation for a 17.5 MW green hydrogen project that will be located at the Budweiser Brewing Group UK & Ireland's Magor Brewery in Monmouthshire, South Wales in the UK. In addition to providing fuel for the brewery's Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and forklifts, energy generated from local renewables and green hydrogen will be used to decarbonize various aspects of the brewing procedure.
The project will generate more than 10 MW of power, making it a Development of National Significance (DNS). The application for the project will be sent to Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW) for review before a recommendation is made to Welsh Ministers for the granting of planning permission.
Beginning in September 2022 and ending on October 7, 2022, Protium will conduct an informal consultation prior to a second, statutory consultation in the winter or spring of 2023.
