Britain has announced its plans to invest GBP700 million (US$809.13 million) in EDF's proposed Sizewell C nuclear plant project that will be located in Suffolk, UK.
The investment in nuclear power comes as Britain strives to become more energy independent in the wake of a spike in oil and gas prices caused by the Ukraine conflict, and as the nation aims to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
EDF plans to make a final investment decision on the project in 2023.
