Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Hexicon have submitted a development consent application to Marine Scotland for the 100 MW Pentland floating wind project located off the coast of Dounreay, Caithness in Scotland, UK. The application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment Report and a Habitats Regulations Appraisal.
Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP), CIP's development partner, is in charge of project development.
Several modifications have been made to the project's final design in response to input from stakeholders and the local community in order to reduce potential visual impacts. These include reducing the site area by 50% and the maximum number of turbines from ten to seven while maintaining the same 100 MW output.
