Van Oord, along with a consortium of sellers, has sold its share in the Dutch North Sea offshore wind farm Borssele V to Octopus Energy Generation.

Van Oord will remain involved in the project for the next 6 years by providing monitoring and analysis of the behavior of the slip joint, in an attempt to continue to study and improve the technology.

Borssele V, located more than 20 km off the coast of Zeeland, has 2 Vestas 9.5 MW turbines installed that went online in 2021 and have a combined annual power output equivalent to the power demand of 25,000 Dutch homes.
