Van Oord is set to build a reef structure of oyster at the construction site of the 19 MW Borssele Wind Farm Site V off the coast of Zeeland in the Netherlands.
The Two Towers BV consortium consists of Van Oord, Investri Offshore BV and, Green Giraffe BV has won the tender for the test site in 2018.
The project features two V164 turbines of 9.5 MW each. There will be eight different reef structures that will be placed on the two scour protections of the turbines.
The oyster reef structure is part of the Ecoscour research project that seeks to revive the oyster industry in the country.
