Dutch maritime contracting company Van Oord has started the construction works in the 382.7 MW Fryslan nearshore wind farm project located in the Frisian part of the Ijsselmeer Lake in the Netherlands.
The first of the 89 foundations for the wind turbines have been put into the bottom of the lake. The construction of these structures is expected to be completed in January 2021.
The project consists of 89 units of its 4.3-MW turbines supplied by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA. Commissioning of the facility is scheduled in the summer of 2021.
