Wales Pension Partnership (WPP) has invested GBP68 million (US$84 million) into Bute Energy's fleet of onshore wind farms in Powys, Wales, UK.
The investment from the WPP is a significant boost for Bute Energy and for the development of renewable energy in Wales. The two major wind farm projects that Bute Energy is developing in Powys are:
Both of these projects are currently in the planning stage. Bute Energy is expected to submit planning applications for the projects in the coming months. Once operational the wind farms will generate enough energy to offset more than 2.6 million tonnes of CO2 emissions a year.
