Bute Energy has secured a 20-year Contract for Difference for its 92MW Twyn Hywel Energy Park. Twyn Hywel marks the company’s first development to move into the construction phase and is expected to begin producing electricity toward the end of 2027. Approved in 2024, the project consists of 14 turbines located along the boundary between Caerphilly and Rhondda Cynon Taf, with the capacity to supply power to around 81,000 households.
The firm is committing £3 billion (US$4.09 billion) to deliver over 2.2 GW of onshore wind capacity across Wales, with the initiative positioning Caerphilly and the wider south Wales region as key players in the shift toward clean energy.
