Norwegian company Scatec ASA has been awarded a contract by the Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) to build and operate a 50 MW solar photovoltaic project that will be located near the town of Selebi-Phikwe, about 400 km east of Gaborone, Botswana.
Scatec will finance, build, own, and operate the solar PV plant and will sell the energy produced from the project under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
