Scatec and Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) have signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 50 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Botswana. Scatec is also the designated engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), asset manager, and operations and maintenance (O&M) contractor.
Scatec will build the solar facility in Selebi Phikwe, a former mining town in the country's eastern region. The solar farm will prevent around 48,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually and provide electricity to nearly 20,000 homes.
