Public Power Corp., (PPC) has announced its acquisition of an 84 MW wind project in Romania. This transaction was made possible through a competitive process, with international companies participating. However, PPC Renewables emerged as the preferred bidder. The wind park is situated in the regions with the best wind conditions in Romania, specifically in Dorobantu and Topolog, and generates over 200 GWh per year. The purchase is expected to close in Q4 of 2023.
PPC's acquisition of the wind park aligns with the company's goal to increase its presence in Romania's renewable energy sector.
Kommunalkredit Austria AG played a significant role in the transaction, acting as an exclusive buy-side advisor for PPC Renewables.
