Latin American utility Enel has finalized the installation of solar panels at its 486.7-MWdc Guayepo I & II solar farm, which spans 69 subfields across 1,110 ha in Ponedera and Sabanalarga located in the Colombian department of Atlantico.
The Guayepo I & II solar complex is already feeding electricity to the national grid on a trial basis. The last of the 820,600 solar panels was positioned in its place in recent days. Installation began in February 2023, with 595 W bifacial modules on trackers.
Guayepo I & II Part of its production is reserved for Colombia brewery Bavaria SA, which signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Enel Colombia to procure around 250 GWh of electricity per year.
