Macquarie Asset Management, on behalf of co-investors and managed funds, has acquired a 50% stake in Enel Green Power Hellas from Enel Group (Enel) for a total equity consideration of approximately EUR250 million (USD273 million).
Enel Green Power Hellas is a renewable energy developer and operator with a 566 MW portfolio of onshore wind, solar, and hydropower projects in various stages of operation or construction across mainland Greece and its islands. The current operational portfolio consists of 59 projects totaling 482 MW, utilizing wind, solar, and hydropower, with an additional six solar projects under construction, totaling 84 MW. Enel Green Power Hellas is actively developing new projects in wind and solar, expanding into innovative storage and hybrid solutions to support Greece's energy transition goals. The joint venture with Macquarie Asset Management's Green Investments team combines their expertise to contribute to Greece's decarbonization efforts and enhance energy security.
