Eurowind Energy has announced that it began construction of the 48 MW Pecineaga wind project in Romania. The wind farm is expected to become operational in Q1 of 2025 and is estimated to generate approximately 176,000 MWh/year, which will be able to supply up to 48,000 households with green energy. The wind farm involves a total investment of EUR79 million (US$87.3 million).
The project will be built in Romania, at the Pecineaga site, and will complete a series of renewable energy projects developed by Eurowind Energy in Romania, including photovoltaic parks in Halchiu, Măgurele, and Pufești.
To carry out the Pecineaga wind project, the largest wind turbines built so far in Romania will be installed. These turbines will be supplied by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
