Eurowind Energy has completed the first foundation of a 48 MW wind farm in Pecineaga, Romania.
The project located in Constanța county consists of 8 Siemens Gamesa SG 6.6-170 turbines with an electricity production capacity of approximately 176,000 MWh/year. With eight turbines, each turbine will be able to provide green energy to 6,000 households, for a total of 48,000 households. At 170 m in diameter, 220 m in total tip height, and a single power output of 6.6 MW, this kind of equipment is now the biggest in Romania.
The EUR79 million (US$84.6 million) wind farm is being developed by Eurowind Energy and is expected to become operational in 2025.
