Pre-qualification launched for the sale of Electricaribe

Colombia has opened a pre-qualification process to select a strategic partner to invest in and operate the country's power distribution company Electricaribe. 

The public service regulator Superservicios has revealed the pre-qualification criteria for companies interested in acquiring the power utility. 

Electrificadora del Caribe S.A. E.S.P. (Electricaribe) engages in electric power distribution and trading. The firm serves 2,5 million residential, industrial and commercial customers in the seven coastal departments. The company operates a 54,000km network and 196 substations. The firm was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Barranquilla.
