Eolus AB, together with Dala Vind AB, has signed an agreement for the sale of the Fageråsen wind energy project to OX2.
The project, which is in its late development phase and includes up to 34 wind turbines across five sites, was jointly developed by Eolus and Dala Vind as a key contribution to the Dalarna region’s shift toward renewable energy in Sweden. Upon signing the agreement, Eolus received an initial payment of SEK 6.6 million (US$0.69 million). Reimbursement of the company’s project-related investments is subject to certain regulatory approvals, and further significant payments will be made to the sellers once the buyer proceeds with a final investment decision for construction. Eolus has led the strategic development of the project, overseeing the planning and organizational framework necessary for an initiative of this scale. Meanwhile, Dala Vind AB, deeply rooted in the Dalarna region with strong community ties, has been instrumental in securing land agreements, engaging with local stakeholders, and ensuring regional alignment. By leveraging its local network and fostering community support, Dala Vind has helped build a project that is both environmentally sustainable and firmly embedded in the local context. Together, the two companies have developed a wind project designed not only to generate substantial renewable energy but also to deliver long-term local benefits and strengthen the regional energy infrastructure.
A key aspect of the Fageråsen project is its role in creating an additional transmission grid connection point in the Dalarna region. OX2 is acquiring the project to complete its construction and serve as the long-term owner and operator. With extensive experience in renewable energy development, construction, and management across Europe and Australia, OX2 is well-positioned to lead the project into its next phase. Once completed, the Fageråsen wind farm will be integrated into OX2’s expanding portfolio of energy parks, where the company maintains long-term ownership and operational responsibility. The project is expected to be fully operational by early 2028.
