OX2 has decided to invest in an onshore wind farm with a total capacity of 189 MW in Malung-Sälen, Sweden. The investment amounts to approximately 3 billion SEK (USD333 million).
This is the first project in Sweden that OX2 will continue to own after commissioning. OX2 acquired the project from Eolus and Dala Vind in July, 2025. Construction of the wind farm has started, and once completed, it will produce approximately 550 GWh of renewable energy for Price Area SE3.
The Fageråsen wind farm is expected to be operational during the first half of 2028 and comprises 27 Nordex N163/6.X turbines, with a total capacity of 189 MW. In connection with the wind farm, a 200 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) is also being planned to increase the power contribution.
As part of the contract, Nordex will also provide a full-scope Premium Service contract with a production-based availability warranty for the turbines for a duration of up to 25 years. The project is planned to become operational in early 2028. First component deliveries for the foundation construction are planned to start already in 2026, with wind turbine installation activities commencing in 2027. The Fageråsen wind farm will remain under OX2 ownership after completion.
Eolus and Hydro Rein have completed construction of the 260 MW Stor-Skälsjön onshore wind project in Sweden.
