The Swedish Government has granted OX2 a permit to construct a 400 MW offshore wind project on the west coast of Sweden. The permit has been issued for the northern part of the Galatea-Galene project, which has a total capacity of 1.7 GW.
The offshore wind farm aims to significantly boost Sweden's renewable energy capacity and contribute to the country's goal of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2040. The issuance of the permit marks a significant milestone for the project, which is expected to generate emissions-free electricity for over 400,000 households in Sweden.
OX2 is now looking forward to engaging in constructive discussions with stakeholders to ensure the project is realized quickly and cost-effectively.
