Renewable Power Capital has taken over the 82.5 Megawatt Merkkikallio Wind Project located in the Finnish municipalities of Mustasaari and Vaasa, from OX2.
Construction on the project began in May 2021 and it is now fully operational, able to generate an estimated 280 GWh of power each year - equivalent to the annual energy usage of around 56,000 households. The 15-turbine wind farm is connected to the grid by an electrical substation located on the property, which was built by OX2 in 2013.
Renewable Power Capital is a pan-European renewable energy investment platform established in 2020, majority-owned by CPP Investments.
