Taaleri Energia is investing in a 30 MW/36 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project at Lempaala, approximately 25 km south of Tampere, Finland. In the future, it may be possible to double the system's capacity.
By participating in Fingrid's reserve market, the storage facility will help the balance of production and demand in the main grid. Merus Power, the developer of the project, is also responsible for the complete delivery of the asset.
The investment in Lempaala is part of the portfolio of development seed companies that Taaleri Energia has built for its Taaleri SolarWind III Fund. The fund will buy the portfolio following the first closing, which is anticipated to occur in Q2 of 2023.
