P2X Solutions Oy has begun construction on a 20 MW hydrogen project in the town of Harjavalta, Western Finland.
The power facility will produce green hydrogen using Sunfire GmbH's technology. Anticipated to become operational in 2024, a portion of its output will be converted into renewable synthetic fuels, such as synthetic methane. The production will be helpful in reducing Finland's annual carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 40,000 tonnes.
P2X will invest approximately EUR70 million (US$76.1 million) to construct the project. It is also funded with EUR36 million (US$39.2 million) by the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy and the Finnish Climate Fund.
