Suomen Hyotytuuli Oy has placed an order with Vestas for 236 MW to power the Siikajoki wind project in North Ostrobothnia, Finland. The wind park is located about 50 km south of Oulu.
The deal covers the supply, installation, and commissioning of 38 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines, as well as Vestas' Anti-Icing System, which efficiently removes ice accumulation on blades during operation to maximize energy production.
It is anticipated that delivery and installation of the wind turbines will begin in Q2 of 2024, with commissioning occurring between Q3 and Q4 of 2024.
