The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment (TEM) has issued research permission to Ilmatar Offshore for two regions within Finland's exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
Permission has been given for two locations, one located roughly 30 km from Jakobstad and the other approximately 70 km southwest of Vaasa in Finland. Previously, Ilmatar Offshore announced that these projects have been temporarily suspended. However, now that the study authorization has been granted, the development will proceed and these sites will receive official project status.
Ilmatar's Voima and Norrskär projects cover 323 and 389 sq km outside Ostrobothnia's coastline waters. The preconditions are good, but it is too early to pedict turbine numbers and installed capacity.
