Ilmatar has started commercial production at a 38 MW Korpilevonmäki wind farm in Sakyla in southwest Finland.
The six wind turbines at the Korpilevonmäki wind farm will produce more than 38 MW of renewable energy for the grid. Korpilevonmäki has been calculated to make a total of 125 GWh of renewable energy per year. This is equivalent to the electricity needs of up to 50,000 apartments in apartment buildings or more than 6,200 single-family homes. The wind farm was completed well ahead of schedule in just 16 months and well below budget.
The turbines at Korpilevonmäki represent the latest technology in the industry. With a sweep height of 250 meters, they are also among the tallest turbines built in Finland.
