Energy Dome and Orsted have signed an agreement to conduct a feasibility study on the implementation of a 20 MW/200 MWh energy storage project utilizing Energy Dome's CO2 Battery technology at one or more Orsted sites in Europe.

The collaboration intends to deploy long-duration energy storage to deliver renewable baseload electricity to Orsted's end-use customers, mitigating the increased fluctuation of the energy supply and providing grid stability services. The agreement includes an option to develop numerous additional CO2 battery energy storage facilities, with the first 20 MW plant potentially scheduled to commence construction in the second part of 2024.
