ORIX Corporation has signed a joint development agreement with Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc. for the Seiryo Wind Power Generation Project in Date, Hokkaido, Japan. The two companies will collaborate on wind condition research and environmental impact assessments to determine whether the wind farm is commercially feasible. At present, the proposed project is expected to have a total capacity of 189 MW, with a single unit capacity of approximately 4,200 kW, and up to 45 units.
ORIX promotes power generation from renewable sources including wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass in Japan and overseas. Through such business activities, ORIX aims to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by producing clean energy.
