Sharp, Fuyo General Lease start commercial operation of 40.8 MW solar project in Fukushima

Samegawa Energy LLC, a joint venture (JV) between Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation (SESJ) and Fuyo General Lease Co Ltd, has started the commercial operation of the 40.8 MW DC solar photovoltaic project located in Fukushima prefecture, northern Japan.

Named 'Samegawa Aosono Solar Power Plant', the project is constructed in Samegawa village. The facility generates up to 44 kWh of energy per year and offsets an estimated 17,000 carbon emissions annually. 

Sharp Corp has signed a feed-in tariff (FiT) power purchase agreement (PPA) with Japanese utility TEPCO Energy Partner Inc, a unit of Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc.
