Tokyo Electric Power Company, Inc.,(TEPCO), is a Japanese electric utility servicing Japan's Kanto region, Yamanashi Prefecture, and the eastern portion of Shizuoka Prefecture. This area includes Tokyo. Its headquarters are located in Uchisaiwaicho, Chiyoda, Tokyo, and international branch offices exist in Washington, D.C., and London. The company operates through five segments: Fuel and power, Power Grid, Customer Service, Corporate and Others segment. The fuel and power segment is engaged in the sale of electricity by thermal power generation, the procurement of fuel, the development of thermal power, as well as the investment in the fuel business. The Power Grid segment is engaged in power transmission, substation and distribution, the sale of electricity by hydroelectric power, the construction and maintenance of the transmission and distribution and communications equipment and others.
