Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust (ORIT) has completed the sale of the Ljungbyholm onshore wind farm in Sweden to DWS Infrastruktur Europa, a DWS core infrastructure fund.
ORIT acquired a 48MW wind farm at the pre-construction stage in March 2020, investing EUR 68 million (US$ 75.7 million). Octopus Energy Generation managed its construction, and the wind farm became operational in June 2021. The sale of the wind farm for EUR 73.7 million (US$ 82 million) achieved an internal rate of return (IRR) of 11.3% over the investment period. The sale also yielded a premium of GBP 1.4 million (US$ 1.5 million) over its previous valuation. This transaction is part of ORIT's capital recycling program, following earlier divestments in Poland and Spain.
