Neoenergia SA has received the first modules for the next phase of its 149.3 MW direct current (DC) Luzia solar park in the state of Paraiba.
The new solar facility, which will be built in the town of Santa Luzia, will use 228,780 Canadian Solar Inc. CS7N photovoltaic (PV) modules. STI Norland, a Spanish manufacturer of solar trackers, will supply the plant's trackers.
Luzia will be able to generate enough energy to cover the needs of over 150,000 local homes once it is up and operating. The power supply will begin in the second half of 2022.
