Celeo Redes, in partnership with Quinta Solar Energia, has planned to develop the 1.1 GW Litoral Piauiense solar PV project on the coast of Piaui state, Brazil.
The Litoral Piauiense solar complex represents a total investment of about BRL4.4 billion (US$852.74 million). The project will be composed of 22 solar farms, each with a capacity of 50 MW, located in the coastal municipalities of Luis Correia and Bom Principio. The complex will be developed in two stages, scheduled to start in 2024 and in 2025.
The project is expected to be operational by 2026 and generate energy equivalent to supply the consumption of over 1.6 million homes. The PV complex has already received the preliminary license (LP) from Semar, Piaui’s Secretary of Environment and Water Resources, and is currently in the permitting stage.
