Atlas Renewable Energy, in partnership with Unipar, has secured a BRL$407 million (US$79.00 million) loan from Banco do Nordeste do Brasil SA for the construction of the Lar do Sol – Casablanca II solar plant, which will be located in the State of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
The Lar do Sol – Casablanca II Solar Plant will consist of 460,000 solar panels spread across over 700 hectares of land in Pirapora. Once operational, the project is expected to generate the equivalent of supplying energy to about 261,662 homes annually and avoid approximately 40,500 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year.
