Oman's Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn, Mubadrah, and Solar Wadi have signed an agreement with the objective to construct a 100 MW Solar PV Farm in Suhar Industrial City.
The PV project is set to be operational by 2022 as part of the overall strategy of Madayn in providing a significant portion of the energy needs of its tenants from a sustainable renewable energy source. The project is in line with Oman Vision 2040's sustainability goals.
With an area of 29.9 million sq meters, Suhar Industrial City is located in the Al Batinah North Governorate and is home to over 400 businesses in the marble, paper recycling, food, consumer goods, leather, furniture, resins, glass, steel bars, and engine oil industries.
