Lostock Sustainable Energy Plant Ltd (LSEP), the developer of the 90 MW Lostock energy-from-waste project in Cheshire is seeking to increase the capacity of the plant by 128,000 tons of waste per year.
The waste-to-energy project is developed by the joint venture of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and waste management firm FCC Environment with an estimated investment of about GBP480 million (US$626.11 million).
Once the plan is realized, the plant can accommodate up to 728,000 tons of residual waste from the current design of 600,000. UK's Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) will review the proposal of LSEP.
FCC Environment will operate the project once commissioned.
