Polish media group Cyfrowy Polsat SA has struck a deal to obtain PLN 360 million (USD 84.8 million) in debt from Switzerland-based EFG Bank Ltd for a 50.4-MW wind project in the village of Przyrow, Czestochowa County, Poland.
The funding will serve as collateral for the development of a wind farm in the Silesia Province in southwestern Poland. The term loan provided to Cyfrowy Polsat's subsidiary, Farma Wiatrowa Przyrow sp Zoo, will reach its maturity on October 16, 2028.
The 50.4 MW Przyrów wind project is being developed by Farma Wiatrowa Przyrów, a joint venture between Polish renewable energy company Polenergii and French investment company EFG International. The project will consist of 12 Vestas V110-4.2MW wind turbines, which will be located on a site of approximately 1,000 hectares. The wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to power over 40,000 homes and offset over 100,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Construction on the Przyrów wind project began in 2022 and is expected to be completed in 2023.
