Equinor has acquired a 26 MW onshore wind farm from the Helios Group in Poland.
The Wilko wind farm, situated in Poland's Wielkopolska province, will be under the operation of Wento, which is Equinor's subsidiary in Poland. This asset is anticipated to yield immediate production and cash flow, with an estimated annual production totaling 105 GWh of electricity per year. This output is equivalent to the power consumption of approximately 50,000 Polish households. Solar and onshore wind energy sources typically complement each other in terms of generation patterns, allowing solar to compensate for wind generation shortfalls and vice versa. The combined use of these two technologies can provide more reliable power generation, reduce portfolio risk, and enhance overall value creation. The electricity generated will be managed in the Polish market through Equinor's energy trading entity, Danske Commodities (DC).
