UK pension fund manager Railpen has formed a joint venture (JV) with Scottish independent renewables business GreenPower to co-develop a 66-MW onshore wind project in western Scotland.

The Barachander project in North Argyll is in the pre-planning consultation phase. It will be a sister project to the Carraig Gheal wind farm, using the same access roads. The plan includes installing between nine and 11 wind turbines, each up to 180 m tall from ground level to the blade tip.
