JERA Co., Inc. has secured a share purchase agreement with International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Armstrong S.E. Asia Clean Energy Fund Pte. Ltd in order to buy a 35.1% stake in Gia Lai Electricity Joint Stock Company (GEC).
GEC is the owner and operator of about 600 MW of hydroelectric, solar photovoltaic, and wind energy projects.
The acquisition is expected to be completed after the necessary regulatory approvals.
