GIG portfolio company Corio Generation has signed a joint development agreement with FECON for a proposed 500 MW offshore wind farm in Ba Ria, Vung Tau province, Vietnam.
The Vung Tau offshore wind farm is located 23–35 km from the coast and will be among the first large-scale offshore wind projects to be built in Vietnam. Once completed, the fixed-bottom project will be capable of producing around 1,250 GWh of clean electricity and avoiding more than 600,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
