Idemitsu Kosan Co Ltd, through its subsidiary RS Renewables Co Ltd, has started the operation of its 58 MW solar photovoltaic facility located in the town of Akaiwa in Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
The SF Akaiwa Solar Power Plant is composed of copper indium diselenide (CIS) thin-film solar modules developed by Idemitsu unit Solar Frontier Co Ltd that is also responsible for the operations and maintenance (O&M) of the solar farm.
The project can generate up to 65 million kWh of energy per year.
