Spanish utility group Iberdrola SA has entered into a joint-venture with Cosmo Eco Power Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Cosmo Energy Holdings Co Ltd., and Hitachi Zosen Corp., to build a 600 MW offshore wind farm project in Japan.
The Seihoku-oki offshore wind project will be built in the Aomori Prefecture through Aomori-Seihoku-Oki Offshore Wind Godo Kaisha, an LLC-type special purpose vehicle.
The project is expected to be part of the offshore wind farm tender by the 2021-2022 auction.
