The 207 MWp solar photovoltaic project located near Holstebro in Denmark is set to commence operation and be connected to the European energy grid before the end of 2021.
The project is owned and operated by Heartland in partnership with Danish energy company Better Energy. Once operational, the solar PV will produce electricity equal to the energy consumption of approximately 127,000 Danes. The solar plant is constructed on conventionally cultivated agricultural land that will be converted into organic farming.
The PV plant has signed already three power purchase agreements with Bestseller, fashion company, NORMAL and nemlig.com. Around half of the produced energy is sold to Bestseller, corresponding to 100% of the company's global electricity consumption for owned and operated buildings.
