Global Power Generation (GPG), a joint venture of Naturgy Energy Group, SA (75%) and the Kuwait Investment Authority (25%), has acquired the 125 MW DC (100 MW AC) Cunderdin solar photovoltaic (PV) and 55 MW/220 MWh energy storage located in Cunderdin in about 150 km east of PerthWestern Australia. It will be connected to Western Australia’s South West Interconnected System (SWIS).
The project has been developed by Sun Brilliance Group while Sungrow will manufacture and supply the battery energy storage system (BESS). Its construction is planned to begin in the Q4 of 2022, while the commercial operation is anticipated to begin in Q1 of 2024.
